Alright, so you have been creating a killer press release to send to one of the journalists in your company’s contact.
Your press release contains a catchy header that makes your story very memorable and appealing. The opening paragraphs are clear and upfront – covers who and why aspect of your message.
And the quote from the CEO of your company brings life to your message.
Not to mention, the final paragraph ends by telling a story how your company was formed.
Next what? Nothing much we say. Your press release is now almost ready to be published to one of your selected journalists or press release publication companies.
All that is left to do is hit “Send” and then you are done.
But it’s already 3:00pm on a Friday afternoon and you are thinking: do I send my press release now or send it first hour on Monday morning?
The best answer to that question: if you do not have a project to launch this week, then wait until Tuesday or even later of the week on Wednesday or even better until Thursday.
Why NOT send out a press release on Monday?
Monday is usually the busiest day of the week for many journalists. Their inbox is most probably already flooded with last weekend’s emails plus the two extra days that they did not report on.
With so much already on their plates, it is highly possible that your press release will get lost among all those emails trying to get their attention.
So, what is the best day of the week to send your press release?
1) The best day of the week to send press release

Prowly also goes on to say that Friday is the worst day of the week to send your press release, which has an open rate of only 15%.

You will only run the risk of not having it opened by them the next day because it got lost among all the emails that come throughout that evening.
3) Always send your Press Release …
No matter which day you are in – Friday, Saturday, or even Sunday – or what time of the day it is … it is always a better idea to send your press release than not sending them anything at all.
