The NUS Life Sciences Institute (LSI) is a world-class research and education hub in the life sciences. In close collaboration with five core faculties (School of Computing, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Engineering, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Faculty of Science), LSI focuses on enhancing research in the life sciences within NUS. NUS LSI currently overseas 10 research programmes in the areas of Bioengineering, Bioinformatics & Computational Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, Toxicology, Immunology, Molecular Epidemiology, Biophysical Sciences and Tissue Engineering. Over 200 principal investigators are involved in one or more of these 10 research programmes.
Since its inception in 2001, NUS LSI has grown rapidly in its stature and research. With a growing stable of principal investigators, research themes and seminars, users could not easily find the information they needed and website creation and maintenance efforts were consuming significant resources. An improvement of the NUS LSI website was badly needed. However, these were not only the drivers for change. To sustain its leading position in the Life Sciences, NUS LSI recognized that the website needed to reach out to other researchers, potential collaborators, government agencies and even potential sponsors who were interested in the commercial exploitation of their research.
Conversion Hub worked with NUS Life Sciences Institute to revamp its corporate website and implement a content management platform that allowed individual content owners to easily manage their workflow. The revamped website also has a functional built-in search tool, which allows visitors to search for terms they are interested in. Search terms are automatically highlighted, so it is even easier for them to find what they were searching.
